THE HAUNTED AUTHOR

                            

When I first entertained the idea of writing a book, urged by my friends and family members after hearing of the unusual events and happenings at the estate of my deceased friend , I had no intention of writing it myself. I felt if I provided the story and the materials, even possibly be interviewed, then someone else could do a better job. Having no formal experience other than a creative writing classes in high school and a one-act play I wrote for a college assignment, ironically about a revengeful ghost, I was on the learning curve. I have always considered myself an artist first ( not a writer) and believed telling my stories in a visual way.

Not thinking myself as an author? This may seem strange coming from someone who is has scored a literary agent, Laurie Hawkins of Collage Literary, who has been a real rock of support and always held an unwavering belief in me. Laurie signed me to a contract in summer of 2011. This was a brave act for her as she has since been the recipient of some very strange paranormal activity since taking on my project. (nothing like having your client's manuscript being printed out and the machine spits out a metal clamp over your head and across the room!)                        

In July 1012, I produced the video along with my son and other talented artists last year. All the props came from the Estate of Horror. If you look at the first 10 seconds of the video as the door is opening you hear a brief bark of a dog-EVP-then a tall brim hat shadow man shows up on the right of the white paneled door. No one in the film crew were wearing hats that night and no dogs were out at midnight when we filming. We actually have 4 still photos that captured his image too. We had sightings of the shadow man before at our house, and found out he is possibly an early 1900 resident who murdered his wife on the property and went to jail for the crime.

The psychological and physical toll on me and my family have been enormous. We have gotten used to living a paranormal life everyday but it's not easy. You never get used to looking over your shoulder or being scratched while taking a bath or think you've seen a shadow floating on the ceiling or wall while watching TV or hearing a horrible growl or the door rattle to your basement. Even the sudden bouts of nausea and stabbing pains (psychic) in the stomach while moving boxes in the basement did not deter me. I felt that the best defensive was an offense!  I decided that others needed to know what happened to me, and the ghosts needed to be put in their place. This was MY home and they were not going to frighten me away!
So specters beware. My book is published! I even designed the book cover! It's up for sale!

Promotion is the key for success for any writer. Here are some og the things I've done since my book was published January 29, 2014. I have been a guest writer/blogger on author Brian Moreland’s website and written articles on supernatural topics for online magazines: “Haunted Author” for Paranormal Press U.K. (Sept. 2013 issue); “What Are Shadow People?” for Beyond Parazine Magazine (March 2014 issue); and “Ghostly Parasites/Ghosts & Hauntings” for Spero Publishing the Spirit e-zine(Sept.2014 issue). I have a popular blog based on my ghostly experiences and other supernatural topics and have had over 42,000 page views in a little over a year and a half. 

MEDIA OUTREACH: I has been a guest on numerous radio shows including Darkness Radio with Dave Schrader, and have appeared on LIVE Skype video shows with Norene Balovich on “Do YOU BELIEVE” on PZTV; internet interviews with Ross Raposo, Christina George, Sherri Emily, Frank Lee, and author Donald Allen Kirch and many others; and podcasts with hosts Jim Harold and Charles Bergman.

I have also done a joint interviews together with well-known media star and deliverance minister, Bill Bean, with psychic medium and paranormal investigator Laurie Hull and my son Chris Levis.

My story was the inspiration behind the episode "Portal of Doom" on A HAUNTING TV Show that recently aired on Destination America, December, 2014.
